Are you a mom looking for a minute to breathe and ways to keep toddlers busy?
The energy toddlers have can seriously be so tiring. Going through this pregnancy was rough because Kyla is two years old and wants to be on the go! It can be frustrating at times because I am overly exhausted, out of energy, have little help, and just burnt out!
Toddlers are just busy-minded though, and curious about everything. They are learning things so quickly! Their minds need to be stimulated, or they will need us 24/7. Playing with a toddler every minute of the day is just not realistic, and it is good for them to have an independent play.
Since Kyla just turned two, I knew that her toys were not stimulating for her. She constantly did things for attention, and I felt like she looked for ways to get in trouble. It was just time for a toy change because her toys no longer interested her. These new toys and activities have been keeping her SO BUSY it’s been nice.
Especially if you are extremely sick or tired during pregnancy. Or if you are in your third trimester. Maybe you just need a break and a busy toddler! Whatever your reason is, these toys and activities are guaranteed to keep toddlers busy. If my toddler is busy and entertained, yours will be too!
I know that I am not the only mom going through this. For this reason, I have searched for toys and activities that have helped keep toddlers busy and will help with your toddler too!
In this post, you will find toys and activities that keep your toddler busy, stimulated, and tired out!

Best Toys and Activities for Your Busy Toddler:
Trampoline
Trampolines are the best! This trampoline is small enough to keep in your toddler’s room, the living room, or the playroom. You can even move it outside if the weather is good where you live, and your little one can jump away. This is great during times you make dinner, need to rest, want a break, or any time.
Kyla got this for her birthday, and she jumps on her trampoline every single day. I knew it would be a win, and sure enough, it was so worth having for her. She is busy, loves the park, and just constantly runs around the house. Honestly, I feel like I have been less frustrated, and she’s had more fun with this trampoline. It is totally helping me get through this pregnancy!
Scooter
Around the age of two, your little one may be quite coordinated to at least put their leg on the scooter and use the other leg to scoot. Having a scooter is a great way to keep your toddler busy. They can scoot down the hall or outside on the sidewalk.
The scooter is another great tool of entertainment. While you are cooking, you can let them scoot on your tile around the island and down the hall. Kyla scoots every day when she gets home from daycare. There isn’t a day she doesn’t scoot! Depending on the energy I have, I will take her outside. Either way, when daddy gets home, it can be a great time for bonding together! Kyla loves to scoot with her daddy.
The Park
Even though the park seems like one of those places you don’t want to go or can’t get to. The park has been a game-changer for this pregnancy! Especially having been tired with a baby boy and toddler girl who just wants to run around and do everything. While your toddler swings, you can stand and push. Doing this with Kyla makes her feel like I’m engaged and it beats having to chase her around!
Keeping your toddler around other littles their age is so worth it. The social skills and time talking to other little kids mean that you can supervise and let them get the wiggles out!
Oh, and Kyla knocks out for the BEST naps ever when we go to the park before nap time or before bedtime.
Indoor Slide
The little tikes indoor slide changed everything for us when Kyla turned ONE! Your little one will love sliding down the slide over and over and using it as a gym while they watch television or play with friends. So good for a time when you need to clean, make dinner, or anything else!
We still have our slide and have used it both indoor and outdoor. All the cousins love it!
Motorized Car
Something fun for your toddler to ride around in that beats having to hold them all day and allows them to play is a motorized car or quad. Find an open place for them to ride and just let them go!
Kyla is obsessed with her frozen quad and uses it in the house and at the park. This is another favorite most kids love because they can control it while it moves them around! This option is cute for boys and/or girls.
Indoor Tent
Because toddlers are at such a busy stage, they are curious and need something to stimulate their minds. Playing with toys in their tent is exciting for them and gives them a chance to play independently and feel occupied in their tent.
When Kyla got her tent, she has had so much fun playing with cousins and friends in her tent. She also likes building a big tent with chairs and blankets in our home “to hide.” Remember their little imaginations Jew their brains busy!
Doodle Mat
Along with curiosity are a curiosity to color with pens, pencils, crayons, and anything your toddler can get their hand on right? Kyla has found pens and drawn on our chairs, important papers, and it was a little frustrating. However, knowing it’s not their fault, having something they can draw on without a mess is THE BEST. I think every mom can agree, haha.
This doodle mat has been such a game-changer and so stimulating for Kyla. You fill the pens and markers up with water. When your little one draws on the mat different colors pop up depending on where they draw. It is far from messy, and they get to work on fine motor skills! Plus, I love that it is an indoor activity!
Piano Pad
Piano pads are so much fun because they have music for your toddler to listen to, and they can stay busy stepping back and forth on the mat. Different sounds and keys are entertaining and a great way for them to discover a love for music! Kyla loves her mat, it is easy to turn on and off, and she jumps on it and plays with keys all the time.
Water Sprinkler
When the weather is nice outside, a sprinkler is a fun way to let your little play. We have splash pads in Arizona, but a sprinkler is entertaining! They can run through it any time of the day, and you do not have to worry about them drowning. It’s an easy way to supervise and play in the water!
These toys have been so fun for our toddlers and keep toddlers busy. I hope your toddler finds them as fun as ours! These have seemed to make for lots of fun for Kyla and tire them out, making for good rest!
